The Department of International Relations at Central European University invites applications for a one-year Postdoctoral Fellow position in Narrative Politics in International Relations. Preference will be given to applicants with regional expertise in the European, post-Soviet or Middle East areas and a track record of fieldwork research. The language of instruction is English.

Applicants should have, or be close to completing, a

  • PhD in international relations, political theory, or sociology,
  • demonstrate a record in research and teaching,
  • responsibilities include teaching one graduate course,
  • MA supervision,
  • producing high quality academic research.


Compensation is commensurate with experience. We offer a competitive salary, as well as a dynamic and international academic environment. Teaching load is comparable to that of research universities. CEU is an equal opportunity employer.
