Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies IOS (Regensburg)
The Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS) is an interdisciplinary area studies research center in Regensburg. IOS explores the historical, economic, and political developments of eastern and south-eastern Europe in a global and comparative perspective. It pursues research in four main fields: governance, exchange (migration and trade), labour, and territorial conflicts. In 2017, IOS joined the Leibniz Association, one of the leading associations of research institutions in Germany. IOS closely cooperates with the University of Regensburg.
