Martti Ahtisaari International Doctoral Scholarship Programme
Martti Ahtisaari Institute is seeking for applications to the Martti Ahtisaari International Doctoral Scholarship Programme. The programme supports doctoral studies on challenges of sustainable and responsible business, as well as functioning of the global markets and economy as a whole. Accounting, Economics, Finance, International Business, Logistics, Management, or Marketing must be the main subject area of the studies.
One or more doctoral student will be selected from each of the MAI Research Group Scholarship Programme groups (Energy Economics / Svento; Futuralis / Ahokangas&Koivumäki; Innovation Appropriability and Appropriation / Hurmelinna-Laukkanen; SHARP/Ulkuniemi; Sustainable Corporate Governance / Kallunki. In addition, two or more doctoral students from any research group at Oulu Business School will be selected.
The students accepted to the programme must also be accepted as students at the University of Oulu Graduate School UniOGS. The studies to be conducted must follow the requirements set by UniOGS.
The following documents must be submitted, when applying for the first time:
- Application Letter (including information on funding applied for and/or received from other funding sources),
- Curriculum Vitae,
- Research Plan (max 5 pages),
- Supervisor’s Letter of Recommendation and
- UniOGS Progress Report, if available.
Students, who are currently in the programme based on funding received in 2016, should attach only the UniOGS Progress Report to their Application Letter and a Statement of proceeding from their responsible supervisor, to be considered for funding in the current call for applications.
The selection of students is based on the evaluation of the application and relevant recommendations or progress reports. The accepted students will be eligible to funding, as well as other support, as decided by the Institute, following the regulations on the use of funds of the University of Oulu. Typically, the financial support for selected students consists of funding for an international research visit or a conference, and/or other support needed for the progression of the studies. The funding must be used by the 31st of December 2017.
