The School of Engineering at LSBU has excellent links with industry, commerce and the professions, which together with first class applied research make us exceptionally well equipped to offer our students’ industry-relevant education.

We seek an innovative and results-oriented professional to contribute to teaching, research, and other academic duties in Computer Science and Informatics, specialising in Secure Systems and Cyber Security. We are particularly keen on candidates with a strong understanding of the theoretical principles of Cyber Security and its practical applications, as well as experience of commercial practice in secure systems. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator and teacher, committed to collegial practice and to meeting the needs of a diverse student population.

Candidates should ideally have proven experience of teaching within the UK HE sector and a commitment to maintaining high standards of professional practice and knowledge of the industrial sector.

You will have a PhD in Mathematics or Computer Science, or a closely aligned field and / or extensive professional work experience in the field of Systems and Cyber Security. Specialist knowledge and skills, indicative of ability to teach in both specialist and general roles across the curriculum in Computer Science and Informatics is required. It is expected that the successful candidate will be actively involved in research in their chosen field or specialism, tendering for funding and developing an international research profile. Strong links to industry would also be an advantage.
