JOB DESCRIPTION
The Tumo Center for Creative Technologies is looking for an experienced and dynamic specialist of graphic design who will be responsible for creating learning activities, project assignments and other learning assignments in the area of graphic design.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead drawing workshops which teach the principles of graphic design
- Develop, test and fine-tune graphic design activity content
- Brainstorm and mock up ideas for activities that would develop the students’ design skills, present them to the content development group and offer solutions for their integration into the existing curriculum
- Examine student activities and write meaningful detailed feedback
- Provide assistance during course sessions and workshops pertaining to graphic design
- Assist in the process of testing and evaluating the educational content
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Relevant higher education degree from a leading internationally or locally recognized university in graphic design
- Illustration, fine arts or a related discipline
- Demonstrated illustrative skills with rough sketches
- Creative flair, originality and a strong visual sense
- Attention to detail in proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality design work
- Ability to conceptualize and pitch design ideas
- In-depth knowledge of one or more of the following new media technologies: QuarkXPress, FreeHand, Illustrator
- Photoshop, Illustrator, 3ds Max, Acrobat, Director, Dreamweaver and Flash
- Substantial experience in the production of graphic design related content
- Experience in education or working with youth is a plus
- Ability to work both independently and in a team
- Strong communication skills and self-motivated personality
