About the Seminar

"Europeans, Migrants, all in the same Boat" "Europeans, Migrants, all in the same Boat" focuses primarily on highlighting the problems of the refugee crisis. This will happen through a mix of formal and non-formal teaching methodologies, training activities, peer to peer learning and meeting with experts on the matter. The seminar is part of JEF's 2016 Annual Work Plan called European Y.O.U.T.H. - Youth for Openness, Unity, Tolerance and Human rights for all and is focusing on combating the current wave of intolerance, migrantophobia - recurrent nationalist and populist stances and raise awareness among Europe's youth about these issues.

How will we work?

The methodological approach of the seminar will ensure that the principles of non-formal education are fully respected. This means that the participants will be offered possibilities to be fully engage in planning and achieving their learning through various experiential processes (role plays), small group work, expert input and open debates. Related to the inputs provided by external speakers, JEF Europe and JEF Austria will ensure that the speakers who will come to address the participants with their expert input will be very experienced and able to engage youth in active and meaningful dialogue.
