Participation in BMO Academy

The “Support to SME development in Armenia” (SMEDA) project invites Armenian BMOs to participate in BMO Academy.

SMEDA is co-funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and

Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ’s Private Sector Development in South Caucasus Programme. SMEDA is part of the EU4Business and EU4Innovation initiatives of the European Union.

The objective of this assignment is hence:

• to enhance the private sector’s capacities to organise itself as professional associations, which is essential prerequisite for a constructive dialogue with the authorities,

• to ensure a coherent and effective dialogue when defining economic and sectoral policies

The selected applicants will participate in:

WEEK 1 Training: Providing the training with information e.g. on development of membership directory; communication (internal and external communication); surveys (periodical surveys to reveal the needs of members); lobbying/advocacy     WEEK 2 Practicum in Europe: Knowledge gained on the European BMOs experience with providing services to their members, successfully participating in PPD, increasing their membership, etc. WEEK 3 Training/Coaching: On the Job training/coaching of the participants.

Selection Criteria (Up to 10 applicants will be selected based on their applications)

Applicant must be a BMO with SMEs as a members. Applicant must be with membership of not less than up to 20 companies. Applicant must be a representative of national or regional business community. Applicant must provide basic services for companies incl. lobbying activities. Chambers/associations from regions in Armenia (outside Yerevan) are encouraged to apply
