If your excellent qualifications already prove your academic ability in your chosen masters discipline, in Holland you may still need some help to meet the required level of English language to pursue postgraduate study at the University of Groningen, Wageningen University or Nyenrode Business Universiteit.

That’s where the Holland International Study Centre comes in. The English Pre-Masters Programme provides intensive English language training as well as research methods to ensure you are thoroughly prepared to begin your postgraduate course.

The core of the programme consists of at least 16 hours of English Language training per week. Depending on the Master’s degree you will follow we will also provide up to 4 additional hours of teaching Research Methods.

The English Language modules consist of:

English and Skills for University Study focusing on key areas including:

• expanding your vocabulary
• improving your listening and writing skills
• increasing conversational skills
• developing reading and self-study skills
• improving pronunciation and knowledge of grammar

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) training

If you need to take an IELTS test before being admitted to your university we will ensure you are well prepared for taking this test.

The programme

1. Research Methods: providing access to Wageningen University

This track trains you to in research methods such as statistics and quantitative methods. Particular attention is also given to correct use of referencing and the academic mindset to ensure you are prepared to follow a scientific Master. This track provides entry into all Master’s degrees of Wageningen University.
