Studentships for the PhD in Law will be offered for 2017-2018 funded by both Edinburgh Law School and the generous legacy of Edinburgh Law School alumnus Ewan Cameron
Each studentship covers the UK/EU rate of fee and an annual stipend of £10,000. These are tenable for three years, subject to satisfactory academic progress.
Eligibility
The studentship is open to applicants who have applied to study a full-time PhD in Law commencing in 2017-2018. Successful applicants will be expected to firmly accept the offer at the time when the results of the application process are announced. Candidates who already have an offer of financial sponsorship from elsewhere will not eligible.
Applicants of any nationality are eligible to apply.
Criteria
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit. Candidates must have the minimum equivalent of a 2:1 degree at undergraduate level. A good result in a consequent and relevant Masters degree will also be expected.

The Fees and Student Support Team
The Fees and Student Support Team can assist with any issues relating to:
- Fees Status - is determined for all applicants by using nationality and country where you are "ordinary resident". This will also determine whether the level of tuition fee that you pay e.g. Overseas, EU, Rest of UK, Scotland
- Graduate and Alumni discount - we administer the discount if you have applied
- SAAS - confirming attendance so that you get your maintenance payments and we receive tuition fee payment on your behalf
- SLC - confirming attendance so that you get your maintenance payments and we receive tuition fee payments if you have applied for a tuition fee loan. Notifying SLC of any change of circumstances
- Sponsors - creating sponsor records from documentation confirming your award to ensure that the tuition fee invoice goes to your sponsor for payment and not to you
- Tuition fees - how much you have been charged and any adjustments made if you withdraw or interrupt
