closing date : 07/04/2016

The Open University Business School invites applications for full-time PhD studentships starting in October 2016. Studentships are attached to specific research projects which are described at http://www.open.ac.uk/business-school-phd. The studentships cover tuition fees, a research training support grant and a starting stipend of circa £14,000 per year. This is a full-time three-year studentship and you would be required to live in the UK and usually within commuting distance of the Milton Keynes campus.

Subjects

We are looking for highly motivated candidates who have a good honours degree at a minimum of 2:1 or equivalent in a related subject, plus around 120 credits of advanced research methods skills or ideally a Masters in research methods. Candidates, who do not have sufficient research methods training may be offered a place on our one-year full time Masters in Research Methods course.

Your application should comprise a 1000-word research proposal and a covering letter outlining your suitability for your chosen project. We must also receive a completed application form, copies of relevant degree certificates and transcripts and a copy of your SELTS test results (if applicable), before we can consider your application.

Further details of the individual projects and how to apply can be found via the Business School link above.
Interviews will form part of the selection process and are to be held in April/May 2016 in person (or via web conference if required). PhD applicants are expected to give a 15 minute PowerPoint presentation about their proposal, followed by a question and answer session.

The closing date for applications is midday GMT on Thursday, 7 April 2016
