Starting from September 4th through December 24th you are invited to participate in the Financial Accounting (based on international best practice), Financial Management and Analytical Writing 4-month separate courses at the Agribusiness Teaching Center (ATC) of the International Center for Agribusiness Research and Education (ICARE).

Participants are expected to get fully involved in the courses by attending classes, submitting complete homework assignments, and passing exams. After successfully finishing the course (i.e., getting at least 60%), participants will get a Certificate of Participation.

This course is designed to provide prospective users of financial information an understanding of financial accounting fundamentals. The course focuses on developing technical skills needed to understand and record economic events in financial statements. In addition, it focuses on interpreting financial statements. This course also emphasizes how judgment and choice among different accounting methods, as well as accounting regulation, can influence the reported numbers. While the preparers’ perspective is addressed to understand the mechanics of the accounting system, the primary focus of the course is on the users’ perspective (for more details see the main topics below). The objective of this course is to introduce the participants to the world of finance. In a complex business environment, thorough knowledge of finance is critical. The course involves a thorough understanding and application of essential financial concepts. This course will be a natural blend of both traditional financial management and more specialized risk management techniques. At the end of the course, participants are expected to be proficient in financial concepts, risk concepts, and be able to formulate and provide logical solutions to various business/financial problems (for details see, please - https://icare.am/archives/news/financial-management).

With guided practice, participants explore the process of planning, composing, editing, and finalizing written business communications for a variety of audiences. They will be exposed to relevant analytical contexts and genres, including executive summaries, critique, research writing (including evaluating sources).  The participants will learn to understand and use principles of how information is structured and adapted for different audiences, purposes, and genres. To achieve this, they will also concentrate on developing skills of drafting and revision, so that ideas are expressed effectively via appropriate sentence structures, grammar, and style/tone (for details see, please - https://icare.am/archives/news/analitical-writing).

Audience

Participants are expected to have English language skills.

Courses duration

The course will start in September 4thand last until December 24th.

Language of instruction

The language of instruction will be English.

Courses participation fee

The course fee is AMD 100,000 which must be paid the first week of September. While similar hands-on courses are quite expensive, ICARE partly covers the associated expenses for the participants, thus staying true to its charitable, social, scientific, and educational commitments.
