Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships 2021

We aim to attract researchers with outstanding potential to work with us on cutting-edge research projects that will make an original and significant contribution.

We invite expressions of interest from researchers interested in submitting a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA PF) application with Cardiff University as the host organisation. MSCA PFs are funded by the European Commission.

We can offer support and guidance to applicants who successfully go through the internal selection process and respect the timeline for the EoI submission (16 May 2021) and the following internal deadlines (to be communicated to applicants in due course).

Eligibility

Researchers must have a doctoral degree at the date of the call deadline. At the call deadline, researchers must also have a maximum of eight years full-time equivalent experience in research, measured from the date that the researcher was in possession of a doctoral degree and certified by appropriate documents.

Researchers must comply with the following mobility rule: they must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies etc.,) in the country of the beneficiary (for European Postdoctoral Fellowships), or the host organisation for the outgoing phase (for Global Postdoctoral Fellowships) for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before the call deadline.

Researchers can be of any nationality. However, researchers going to a third country (as part of a Global Postdoctoral Fellowship) must be nationals or long-term residents of EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries. Long-term residence means a period of legal and continuous residence within EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries of at least five consecutive years.

Submit your Expression of Interest (Eol)

The European Commission’s next call for applications opens on 18 May 2021 and closes on 15 September 2021. Expressions of Interest to Cardiff University are required by 16 May 2021.

Please complete the following steps:

  1. Check your eligibility against the above criteria. Please contact msca@cardiff.ac.uk prior to submitting an EoI if you have any doubts regarding your eligibility
  2. Read the Fellowship Guidelines (these will be made available shortly)
  3. Complete your details on our online form, ensuring that you also upload your Expression of Interest form.

Your application will be sent to the Academic School/Research Institute of your choice to review, and to confirm their support for your proposal.

Please review the Academic School pages on the University website and identify a suitable supervisor to include in your application.

Applicants must contact their nominated supervisor to gain their support prior to submitting an Expression of Interest; applications without supervisor support will automatically be rejected by the Academic School.

You will be contacted if you have been accepted by an Academic School. You can expect to have a response by mid-June.

Please make sure you have carefully read the guidelines and have understood the scheme requirements. Expressions of Interest which are incomplete or show that the scheme guidelines have not been clearly understood will not be sent forward, without notification.
