Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Research Scholarships for Foreigners
These study grants are meant for foreign researchers wishing to conduct research in Portugal in the framework of a PhD or for publishing a book on topics related to Portuguese Culture in the fields of Literature, History, Art History, Musicology and Political Science.

1st to 31st March (until 11:59pm GMT).
Grant duration
The grants will be awarded for a maximum period of ten months and should be used preferably between September and the end of June. The grants are not renewable.
Eligibility
The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation awards study grants in Portugal to foreign post-graduate students.
Procedure
The application form (and all documents referred in the Regulation) must be submitted online (link below).
- Fill out the form below and submit it online;
- keep the file number automatically assigned;
- then login to my-file.gulbenkian.pt and attach the required documents (pdf or jpg, up to 2Mb) mentioned in the Regulation. The application will be complete.
Before submitting the application, please check all the eligibility criteria and read the general regulations.
To prevent difficulties in the submission process, avoid presenting the application during the last days.
