The Murdoch University Academic Excellence Awards (MUAEA's) acknowledge and reward commencing students who have a record of high academic achievement in previous studies.

The Domestic Undergraduate category are awarded to students who are predicted to receive and ATAR of:

  • 90 or above for courses offered at Murdoch University except Veterinary Medicine & Law
  • 94 or above for applicants who intend to study Law

The International Undergraduate category of the MUAEA's are awarded to commencing international students enrolled in all Murdoch University courses with an average grade of 75% (or equivalent depending on the grading system) or higher in the last course prior to applying to a Murdoch University Bachelor or Honours degree.

Payment 

Subject to the terms and conditions of the award being met, the award is paid in two equal instalments directly to a nominated recipient's bank account after the census date of each of the first two consecutive semesters of study.

For domestic students: $1,500 after the census date of your first two semesters.
For international students: $2,500 after the census date of your first two semesters.

Eligibility

To apply for this scholarship you must:

For international students:

  • Be an international student
  • Commencing study in S1, 2016.
  • Have an academic record of 75% or higher
  • Give permission for your image and name to be used by the university in their media and publications.

For domestic (except Veterinary Medicine):

  • Must be an Australian citizen, an Australian Permanent Residency Visa holder or a New Zealand citizen.
  • Currently be in Year 12.
  • Must be studying at a high school that offers an Australian High School qualification.
  • Submit an application to study a Murdoch University course through TISC
    • Before the published application closing date; and
    • Nominate a Murdoch University course (other than Veterinary Medicine) as their first preference in TISC.
  • Be expected to achieve a predicted raw ATAR (prior to any RISE bonus) of:
    • 94 or higher for Law; or
    • 90 or higher for all other Murdoch University courses except Veterinary Science.
  • Must have achieved a school-assessed English grade of no less than a "B" (or equivalent) in the high School reports for:
    • Year 11  and Semester 1 in Year 12

What happens next?

Applications will be assessed based on the information included in the application and scholarships will be granted to students that meet the eligibility criteria. In cases where there are more eligible scholarship applicants than there are scholarships to allocate, the scholarships will be awarded to the top applicants as ranked by the Admissions Office.

The outcome of the application will be advised by email and no further correspondence will be entered into.

The University reserves the right not to award scholarships if there are no suitable applicants.
