The Government of the United States of America is pleased to announce the 2011 Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship Program (Muskie).  The deadline to submit the application for this program is Monday, November 8, 2010, at 5:00 PM.

If YOU are interested in traveling to the United States to pursue masters-level studies at no cost to you, then read below for more information about the application procedure and the program!

Applicants are encouraged to complete the application online. Please read the online application instructions and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)carefully prior to beginning the application.

Those applicants who cannot complete the application online may download and complete the attached paper application. Four (4) complete copies of all application materials must be received by the IREX Armenia Office located at 32 Zarobyan Street in Yerevan (or other IREX field office ) in one package by 5:00 PM local time on Monday, November 8, 2010.

About the Muskie Program: Established by the US Congress in 1992 to encourage economic and democratic growth in Eurasia, the Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship Program is a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State, and administered by IREX.  The program provides opportunities for graduate students and professionals from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan for one-year non-degree, one-year degree or two-year degree study in the United States.  Eligible fields open to citizens of Armenia include business administration, economics, education, environmental management, international affairs, journalism/mass communications, law, library and information science, public administration, public health, and public policy.

Participants are selected through an open, merit-based competition.

Fellows will:
* Enroll in full-time academic coursework for up to two years.
* Create and implement a project during the first academic year that benefits the local community.
* Take part in professional internships.

The fellowship is fully funded and provides:
* J-1 Visa Support;
* Round-trip travel from fellow’s home city in Eurasia to host institution in the United States;
* Monthly stipend;
* Accident and sickness coverage;
* Tuition and mandatory university fees;
* Limited allowance for books;
* Pre-academic English language training (if necessary); and
* Alumni networking and training opportunities.
