The course will introduce the student to the pictorial world. We will start with simple shapes and then move on to more complex ones. Step by step the student will learn a methodology to learn to represent reality with precision and truthfulness.
The course will end with a theme work. The course will be enriched by weekly visits to museums and churches in the city of Florence, where the student will learn the history of art through the works of the great Florentine masters and the historical and social context in which they were produced.

The course will be held in Italian and English

General program of the Summer Drawing and Painting course
First week: Still lifes (4 lessons)
The goal is to introduce the basic principles of painting. Topics such as light and shadow, proportions, tonal masses, color mixing, brush strokes, etc. will be discussed.

Second week: Study of drapery (3 lessons)
The second week will focus on drapery painting. The student will use the knowledge learned in the first week and will be encouraged to see more and to portray the subject more accurately. We will focus in particular on learning and the study of hot and cold halftones and on the expressive use of the brush.

Third week: sacred composition
This project will teach the student the characteristic traits and the traditional representation of the figure of the chosen “Saint”. The “Saint” chosen at the beginning of the course will be the subject of study during weekly visits to museums and churches. Students will use the knowledge gained in previous projects to create a more complex painting.

TUITION FEE
€ 1500.00, to be paid by the 29th June 2022.
All materials are included in the program.
