“POLITICS VIA PODCASTING IN THE SOUTH CAUCASUS”

by Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung

WHAT IS THE PROJECT ABOUT?

South Caucasus is a place where social, political, cultural issues are discussed everywhere – at home, in a bar, in a taxi etc. Podcast is a relatively new media-tool for the region, but the interest toward it raised especially during the pandemic, when people needed a flexible tool to follow the developments of “crisis time” world, and simultaneously conduct their remote-working obligations.

Podcast is a new generation media. It brings the attention of young, energetic people who have ideas and opinions to share, but need a platform and a creative and dynamic format to do so. Although youth in South Caucasus already uses podcast as a way of expressing ideas and opinions, the quality of the podcasts and its technical details are frequently ignored.

By the project “Politics via Podcasting in the South Caucasus” Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung aims at creating the opportunity for the young enthusiasts and activists from the region to present their ideas by creating high quality podcasts.

Project is implemented and supported by Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) South Caucasus Regional Office in Tbilisi and the Armenian branch of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in Yerevan.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Active young individuals, 18-35 years old, from Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, who are interested in the political and social topics of their countries and want to raise awareness or share their thoughts regarding particular social-political issues via fresh, new format of Podcast.
