Call for applications for short-term research funding at the Centre for East and South-East Asian Studies fall 2020 The Centre announces research periods of 20 per cent up to 50 per cent for a maximum of five months.

The application is open to researchers who work on or want to start a new project, or intend to work on a larger application.  

The applicant should have a focus on a country or region in East and South-East Asia. Preference is given to projects that fall within the Centre’s prioritised research areas: Digital Asia; human rights and social justice; and global challenges and international relations The candidate should have Ph.D. at the start of the research period. Preference is given to early career candidates.

The applicant is expected to contribute to the research environment at the Centre and also attend and give seminars. The application should include a CV of two pages (including publications), a project proposal of max 1500 words with a motivation for the scope and length of the research period, and a personal letter explaining how the research project relates to and contributes to the Centre’s prioritised research areas.

Only salaries will be covered (i.e. 20 up to 50 per cent for a period of max five months. It is possible to comprise the period if necessary).
