International Conference on "The autochthonous peoples of the Caucasus-Caspian region in the light of scientific realities and falsifications"

Chair of Iranian Studies of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Yerevan State University and Institute of Oriental Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of RA organizes International Conference on "The autochthonous peoples of the Caucasus-Caspian region in the light of scientific realities and falsifications" on December 6-7, 2019 which is being held in Yerevan.

The main purpose of the conference is to identify and discuss issues related to the ethnic, linguistic, historical and literary tasks of the Indigenous peoples of the Caucasus and Azerbaijan and to discuss them in the academic level, which could be a major boost to providing a platform for Iranians residing in Azerbaijan.

In the conference will take part Caucasian and Iranian scholars from Armenia, Russia, Iran, Georgia and European countries.

The following general topics are offered to the participants:

  • Armenian-East Caucasian Historical and Cultural Relations in the Middle Ages and New Era

  • Political History, Historical Geography and Topology, Archeology, Ethnology, Sociology, Textbook and Press Criticism

  • Historical Anthropology, Linguistics, Folklore, Religion, Mythology and Epic Poem

  • Literary, theatrical, music and dance arts

  • Bibliographic sources, Handwriting, Historiography, Lithography

  • Art, Architecture and Urban Development

  • Aghuank Studies, Iranian Studies - Talyshi Studies, Turkology - Azerbaijani Studies.

The duration of the reports is up to 20 minutes, for questions and comments - up to 5 minutes.

Conference sessions will take place at the Congress Hotel (Conference Room). At the end of the conference is planned a cultural program.

The working languages of the conference are Armenian, Russian, Persian and English. Is also planned a simultaneous translation.

The conference organizing committee is responsible for the costs of traveling of foreign participants as well as the accommodation in Yerevan. Overseas participants are expected to arrive on Thursday, December 5, and leave on Sunday, December 8.
