Position Title: Dgital Marketing Specialist

Reports to: Director of Social Media and Marketing

Birthright Armenia is looking for a Digital Media specialist to assist the Director of Social Media and Marketing to increase the effectiveness of the online presence, plan local media saturation, design ad campaigns for Birthright Armenia (BR) and Armenian Volunteer Corps (AVC). We are looking for someone aware of current Digital Media tools and trends, someone who has a sharp eye of identifying and beautifully presenting stories with required technical knowledge and super interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities include:  

  • Develop, together with the Director of Marketing BR and AVC social media strategies, including creative content creation, planning, design, tools creation, implementation, tracking and evaluation. 

  • To research digital marketing opportunities for recruitment in secondary and 3rd tier markets with Armenian populations such as Poland, Czech Republic, Greece, Bulgaria, etc.

  • To manage the translation of relevant content into multiple foreign languages (French, Russian, Spanish, Armenian, English) to reach wider audiences.

  • To serve as primary staff on BR and AVC website maintenance coordination, updates and public relevance; working with the Director on prioritizing content; coordinate the requests for modifications with the website maintenance team.

  • To produce or coordinate the production of photo and video materials of in-country volunteers in action (at job placements, homestays, language class, etc.) for use in outreach, promotional and recruitment purposes. 

  • Complete transactions with third parties (vendors) from initiation to closing phases, including contracts. 

  • Monitor and answer all the inquiries received through different media channels

  • To research and establish new partnerships with international volunteer sending organizations (i.e. Service Civique France), prepare presentations and other materials for international recruitment trips

  • To assist the Director with regular communication with local media for interviews with volunteers (TV, radio, print) and articles highlighting activities

  • To periodically participate in excursions as necessary to acquire video and stills

  • To engage in regular and meaningful interaction with volunteers to identify stories to highlight

  • Help with content creation of yearly promotional videos 

  • Constantly monitor the website and other SM channels 

  • Prepare After Activity reports, monthly monitoring reports

  • Write content for blogs, newsletters and other media such as Facebook, Instagram, VK


  • College/University undergraduate degree preferred

  • Experience in creative content writing

  • Experience working with various Social Media tools, such as Google Analytics, Google AdWords, FB, Instagram Insights

  • Website CMS skills, Joomla, WordPress, are highly desirable

  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, InDesign, Illustrator is a plus

  • Photography skills highly desirable, video production skill is a plus

  • Graphic design skill is an advantage

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (Armenian, Russian and English), knowledge of other language is a plus

  • Ability to deal professionally, effectively and cooperatively with staff and volunteers

  • Demonstrate problem solving, interpersonal, good judgment, and teamwork skills

  • Demonstrate flexibility, and have a creative mind and a sense of humor.
