9 Doctoral Scholarships at the Berlin Graduate School for Ancient Studies
Eight doctoral scholarships in Ancient Studies and related disciplines and one doctoral scholarship in Protestant Theology.
Ancient Studies and related disciplines
The Berlin Graduate School of Ancient Studies (BerGSAS) with funding of the Einstein Centre Chronoi “Time and Awareness of Time in Ancient Societies” is offering at Freie Universität Berlin and at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin 8 doctoral fellowships for the winter term 2018/19, starting on January 1st, 2019.
Applicants must hold an outstanding Master’s degree or equivalent degree. This call is open to individual proposals. Each fellowship will include a stipend of 1365 euros per month to be awarded for two years, with an option to extend the support for a third year, depending on the positive evaluation towards the end of the second year.
Candidates are asked to send their application including the documents listed below and referring to the application quoting reference number 2018-BerGSAS-EC-1 to application@berliner-antike-kolleg.org.

- dissertation project synopsis (8-10 pp)

- copies of certificates of any academic degrees

Protestant technology
The Faculty of Theology of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin is offering one doctoral scholarship for the winter semester 2018/19 (starting October 1, 2018). Receipt of the scholarship is connected with admission to the Berlin Graduate School of Ancient Studies (BerGSAS) of the Berliner Antike-Kolleg and participation in the doctoral program “Ancient Languages and Texts”, which is based on a structured curriculum.
Applicants should have an exemplary university track record in Protestant Theology. Applicants with experience in studies abroad and basic skills in modern Hebrew are explicitly welcome. The doctoral fellowship will include a stipend of 1350 Euros per month to be awarded for two years, with an option to extend for a third year upon positive evaluation. A child allowance will be made available in accordance with DFG guidelines.
