PhD and Postdoctoral Positions in Cellular Biophysics, Microscopy, and Bacterial Physiology
Motivated PhD and Postdoc candidates with a background in physics, engineering, or quantitative biology, who have a keen interest to use state-of-the-art microscopy, modeling, and genetics to decipher the regulation of bacterial physiology are looked for.
The interdisciplinary lab is generally interested in how single cells control and coordinate shape, volume, cell-cycle progression, metabolism, and other aspects of physiology in view of fluctuations of both intra- and extracellular conditions. Tools to control cellular physiology through precise modifications of gene expression have been developed,a broad repertoire of microscopy-based methods to extract single-cell and sub-cellular physical properties have been established. The lab is composed of students and postdocs from physics, biology, and bioengineering.
Funding
Funding is guaranteed through an ERC starting grant. However, candidates are also expected to apply to postdoctoral fellowship programs.
