About the program
This year’s programme will develop participants’ understanding of challenges in cybersecurity governance; explore best practices and relevant tools for developing and implementing cybersecurity policies. At the end of the programme, the participants will be informed about tools for cybersecurity governance development, devising cybersecurity strategies and action plans, identifying the needs of stakeholders and conceptualising multistakeholder discussions on cybersecurity.
Specific topics and skill areas that will be covered include:
- The main cybersecurity issues and how they relate to other policy areas, stakeholders involved;
- Strategic goals in and tools for cybersecurity governance;
- Developing a cybersecurity strategy;
- Multistakeholder involvement in policy discussion and implementation, including international and regional discussion mechanisms.
This year’s programme is co-organised by DCAF and DiploFoundation.
To be considered for the programme, applicants must:
- Be no more than 35 years old on 31 December 2016;
- Be public officials, corporate sector representatives, graduate students or members of civil society or the media from the Western Balkans, Croatia or Moldova;
- Hold a graduate degree (or be enrolled in a graduate degree programme) or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline;
- Have a very good command of English, spoken and written;
- Submit the following,by e-mail to y.faces@dcaf.ch, no later than Friday, 14 October 2016.

a completed application form.
All documents must be submitted in English and should be formatted using Microsoft Word.
- Be willing to commit to actively participate in all Network activities:Be available to participate in a three-day workshop (to be organised from 29 November to 1 December 2016 in Belgrade, Serbia;
- Be available to take part in an interactive online classroom environment and an online preparatory session in form of a webinar (for this, participants need access to the Internet) and;
- Be prepared to engage in research aimed at developing a 1’000 word policy brief (assignment).
To be considered for the 2016 Young Faces Conference, applicants must:
- Be no more than 35 years old on 31 December 2016;
- Be public officials, graduate students, or members of civil society or the media from the Western Balkans, 1 Croatia or Moldova;

Logistics
Interested candidates are asked to submit their applications by email to Franziska Klopfer (y.faces@dcaf.ch) by Friday, 14 October 2016, at the latest.
Following a review of applications, approximately 30 candidates will be selected to participate in the 2016 Young Faces Conference. The candidates will be informed of the outcome of the selection process by Thursday, 20 October 2016.
Selected candidates will subsequently receive a folder of material, which they are expected to thoroughly review over the course of the preparatory activities and in advance of the three-day workshop. The organisers will cover all related expenses for selected candidates, including meals, hotel accommodation and economy class travel expenses, when applicable.
