Salo W. and Jeannette M. Baron Student Research Grants
The Yale Program for the Study of Antisemitism (YPSA) invites applications for the Salo W. and Jeannette M. Baron Student Research Grants. The purpose of the grants is to support current Yale University undergraduate or graduate students who wish to pursue focused research on some aspect of antisemitism. Grants can be used to fund travel or research conducted at Yale. Typical grants will be in the range of $500-$2500 with a $3000 maximum. The research must be carried out in the year following receipt of the award. It is expected that students named Salo W. and Jeannette M. Baron Research Scholars will strive to match those qualities of objectivity and thoroughness that characterized the work of Prof. and Mrs. Baron.
Recipients of the grants will be asked to present a 10-page research paper at a special YPSA colloquium summarizing their research. Recipients will also be expected to attend all YPSA events in the year following their receipt of the award. The grants are open to students in all of the recognized academic disciplines. Those who wish to apply are encouraged to submit a cover letter of not more than 1,000 words describing the nature and scholarly significance of the project, a detailed work plan, and also a budget of anticipated expenses. A letter of recommendation from a professor who is familiar with the student’s academic work should accompany the application.
