7th IWH/INFER Workshop on Challenges and Implications of Inflationary Dynamics

hosted by Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH)

The Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH – Institut für Wirtschafts­forschung Halle) and the International Network for Economic Research (INFER) are organizing a joint Workshop on Applied Economics and Economic Policy on September 7th and 8th, 2017 to be held in Halle (Saale).

The workshop provides a platform to discuss applied economic research. We invite empirical and theoretical contributions from all fields of macroeconomics and international economics with an emphasis on relevance for economic policy.

The special topic of the workshop will be inflation. Contributions on the following topics are highly welcome:

  • Inflation dynamics and persistence
  • Inflation expectations
  • Unconventional monetary policy
  • Interest rates and financial stability
  • low inflation and the real economy

Keynote speakers

  • Michael Ehrmann, European Central Bank
  • Mathias Trabandt, Free University Berlin

Please submit your paper or extended abstract on the official website.

The submission deadline is June 15th, 2017. Acceptance decisions will be made by July 15th, 2017. There will be no registration fees. However, participants are expected to pay their expenses for travel and accommodation. Participants who do not wish to present are also highly welcome. Conference language is English.
