About the program
The Institute of Cross Cultural Studies and Academic Exchange has established local center in India near the foothills of the Himalayas. We are inviting applications for the Visiting Scholar in Residence for 2016-2017. The position is for two weeks to two months depending on the research proposal of the scholar who is working in the areas of Indian thought and culture. The visiting scholar will get free accommodation on campus or in the town to carry individual research project while visiting Maynaguri college.
Maynaguri is also near the famous Dooars of the State of West Bengal and there is a Safari surrounded by several villages. Scholars interested on projects on Ecology would find this place worth studying. Dooars is famous for its rich biodiversity and forests, the most notable of which are Gorumara National Park, Jaldapara Wild Life Sanctuary, and Buxa Tiger Reserve.
