Register for Autumn School ‘Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies in the Digital Age’
We are pleased to announce that the registration for the NISIS Autumn School ‘Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies in the Digital Age’ is now open. This year the NISIS Autumn School will take place at Utrecht University from 28 to 31 October.
You can register for the Autumn School until Monday 2 September 2019, 09.00 hrs (CET) by filling out the registration form. Please read the call for applications carefully.
There will be a workshop on Digital Humanities and keynote lectures by Dr. Mona Abdel-Fadil (University of Oslo), Dr. Bettina Gräf (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München), Dr. Cornelis van Lit (Utrecht University), Mirjam Shatanawi MA (Stichting Nationaal Museum van Wereldculturen) and Prof. Jo Van Steenbergen (Ghent University). Junior members should only submit the abstract and short biography in the fields below. PhD candidates and Research Master students not affiliated to NISIS should upload the following documents:
- motivation letter
- a one-page description of your MA thesis or PhD project, indicating supervisor(s)
- a title and an abstract of your presentation (250 words max). Presentations must be related to the theme of the Autumn School
- a short biography (50 words max, in third person)

Please note that participants from outside of the Netherlands who are not a member of NISIS are kindly asked to pay a fee of 60 euros (€30 for lunches/coffee and tea and €30 for the conference dinner).
