Digital World History Postdoctoral Fellowship
The World History Center (www.worldhistory.pitt.edu) and the Department of History (www.history.pitt.edu) at the University of Pittsburgh seek applicants, pending budgetary approval, for a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in digital world history beginning fall 2017.
We seek candidates who have a background in history or a cognate field and who also have expertise in database and website design, data visualization, spatial analysis, and/or semantic web methodologies. Reading ability in Chinese is a plus. In addition to engaging in his or her own research, the successful candidate will collaborate on Center Director Ruth Mostern’s digital atlas of Chinese environmental history and will participate in the Center’s initiatives for world historical data design and integration. The successful candidate will also direct digital history practicums at the undergraduate and graduate level. Salary and benefits are competitive.
