Lavery-Shuffrey Early Career Fellowship in Roman Art and Archaeology

Lincoln College invites applications for a four-year, non-renewable, Early Career Fellowship in Roman Art and Archaeology, available from 1 October 2020, or as soon as possible thereafter, until 30 September 2024. This post is intended to provide a career development opportunity for a scholar in the early stages of an academic career. Applicants should have recently obtained a doctorate in an appropriate area, or will have submitted their doctoral thesis for examination by 1 October 2020. He or she should have some experience of teaching at university level. Preference may be given to candidates with research interests in Roman architecture.

The Fellow will be required to provide tutorial teaching or small group teaching for four hours per week, averaged across the three 8-week terms of the academic year, to share with the permanent Fellow in the subject the organisation of College teaching in classical archaeology and ancient history, and to act as advisor to a limited number of graduate students in the subject. The Fellow will pursue a programme of original research and collaborate in the administration of the subject in College.

Salary and allowances: £30,046 in year 1, rising by annual increments to £32,817 in year 4; full Common Room rights; hospitality credit; access to the College Research and Equipment Funds; membership of the USS pension scheme.
