PhD Candidate in Neuroscience

A PhD position is available in the Brain Signaling group (Dr. Johan F. Storm) at IMB, University of Oslo. The successful applicants will work on consciousness research in humans, and will join a multidisciplinary and international team that work on consciousness research and electrophysiology in humans, rodents, and computational models.  The position is for 3 years, and can be extended. The start date is also flexible (~May-Sept.)

The Institute consists of departments and units that pursue research and education within basic medical science. The Institute has approximately 320 employees and is located at Domus Medica, at the University’s campus at Gaustad.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a Master degree in neuroscience, basal or clinical neurophysiology, medicine, psychology, neurotechnology, physics, mathematics, or bioinformatics, and be proficient in spoken and written English.  Interests and experience in neuroscience, consciousness research, electrophysiology, imaging, or computational modelling - such as EEG, EMG, fMRI, optogenetics, magnetic stimulation (TMS), modelling, statistics, advanced data analysis (e.g. MATLAB, Python, Neuron, NEST), or behavioral analysis, will be positively evaluated.
