University of Lugano Study Grants for the Master of Arts in Italian Language, Literature and Culture

Università della Svizzera italiana organises a contest for 5 study grants for students admitted to the first year of the Master of Arts in Italian language, literature, and culture for the academic year 2016/2017. Priority will be given to candidates who will obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Arts and Humanities during the academic year 2015/16 or by the end of 2016.

For those who have already obtained or who will obtain by August 31st, 2016 a Bachelor's Degree in Arts and Humanities, the condition for participation is a cumulative grade point average of at least 85/100.

For those who will obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Arts and Humanities by the end of 2016, the condition for participation is a grade point average of at least 85/100 of all the exams passed by August 31st, 2016.

Applications must be sent by e-mail to studygrants@usi.ch. The deadline for the submission of the applications is August 31st, 2016.

Incomplete or late applications will not be taken into consideration.

Applications will be evaluated on the basis of a selection examination, consisting of a written exam aimed at determining the level of the Italian language and literature knowledge, writing skills, logical reasoning and the motivation of the candidates.

The selection will take place exclusively on Monday, September 5th, 2016 at the Lugano campus of the Università della Svizzera italiana.

All applicants will be informed of the outcome of their requests by September 9th, 2016.

Each study grant corresponds to the annual tuition fee.

This grant may be renewed to cover also the tuition fee for the second year of study. In order to keep on benefiting from it, the candidate must pass all the exams of the first year by the end of the autumn exam session 2017 (i.e. before the new academic year starts) and keep an average grade of at least 8,1/10.

This grant cannot be cumulated with other bursaries or study contributions offered by USI.
