The University of Kassel, with approx. 23,000 students and 300 professorships as well as a budget of around 200 million Euros, is a medium-sized German university in the heart of Germany, well-known for the extraordinary range of subjects studied here, including the natural and technological sciences as well as cultural and social studies. The following positions are vacant:
 
Junior Research Group Leaders (EG 14 TV-H) Full time. Temporary. 

 

In accordance with its strategy to support junior scholars and the development of individual research profiles of extraordinarily well qualified junior scholars from Germany and abroad, the University of Kassel offers this target group the opportunity to develop research projects of their own and establish their own junior research group. Nine highly innovative projects can be supported by funding the tendered position limited to 2 years (§ 2 Abs. 1 WissZeitVG) as well as, if necessary, a part-time
research position or material expenses. 
Task profile:
 
Working together with a Faculty of the University, you will be responsible for carrying out your own research project in line with one of the focus areas stated in the University’s development plan (www.uni-kassel.de/uni/internationales/ english-version/research/main-areas-of-re­search) and for planning an externally funded follow-up project to further develop your career at the University. You will also teach courses which are thematically related to your research (4 hours per week).
 
 

Requirements profile:

Outstanding PhD degree, relevant international research experience, future-oriented research project in one of the research priorities of the University. A detailed synopsis of the project with details of follow-up financing is expected from the applicants. The implementation of the project has to be supported by a department in the University.
