University of Edinburgh School of Biological Sciences Taught Postgraduate Bursaries
The School of Biological Sciences is offering bursaries for applicants studying eligible masters programmes in the 2016-2017 academic session.
Awards
Each bursary will have a value of £5,000 and is intended to assist with tuition fees. The bursary is only tenable for one academic year.
Eligibility
Eligible students must be nationals of countries outwith the EU and studying one of the following taught masters’ programmes:
- MSc Biochemistry
- MSc Biodiversity and Taxonomy of Plants
- MSc Bioinformatics
- MSc Biotechnology
- MSc Drug Discovery and Translational Biology
- MSc Synthetic Biology and Biotechnology
- MSc Systems and Synthetic Biology
- MSc Quantitative Genetics & Genome Analysis (including Animal Breeding & Genetics, Evolutionary Genetics, Human Complex Trait Genetics)
Criteria
The bursaries will be awarded on the basis of academic merit.
Applying
Applicants must have been offered a place on an eligible MSc at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer, or be intending to do so.
Applicants should send an email registering their interest in applying for the bursary to pgtbiol@ed.ac.uk ensuring you include both your UUN/application ID and the programme(s) you have applied for.
Applicants should only email their interest once they have been offered a place on a relevant MSc programme.
Applicants must note interest no later than Friday 2nd May 2016.
Selection
A Selection Committee will meet in May 2016 and the successful candidates will be notified by the end of May 2016.
