University of Copenhagen Postdoc Position in Dairy Process Technology
Department of Food Science is offering a postdoc position for a period of 36 months commencing June 1st 2016 or as soon as possible thereafter. The application deadline is 23rd April 2016. The position will include research within Dairy Process Engineering.
The candidate will develop approaches to model and quantify the effect of processing or storage on properties of dairy products. The models will support experimental work to elucidate mechanisms occurring in dairy products during processing which are a fundamental key for improvement/development of dairy processes and products. Furthermore, the models can be used as tools to control processes and to speed up the production of new products or processes.
The candidate should have a PhD in Dairy Engineering or Technology, Food Engineering or Technology or related fields with strong qualifications within most of the following areas: process modelling, heat & mass transport, kinetics, flow processing, process equipment and process measurements.
Furthermore experience within one or more of the following areas will be an advantage: dairy processing (eg. membrane processing, spray drying), predicted modelling, good understanding of dairy matrixes and dynamic changes during processing, novel technologies (high pressure, ohmic heating and pulsed electrical fields) and powder technology. Experience in teaching and pilot plant management are additional skills desired.
We work in multidisciplinary research team and therefore good collaborative skills are a bonus.

Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.
