Project description
The project is part of collaboration between the Hickson and Lopez-Contreras groups in the CCS and will focus on understanding the molecular basis for developmental disorders in man caused by abnormalities in the protein Topoisomerase III (TOP3). TOP3 is required for DNA repair and genome stabilization through altering the topological state of DNA. The project will involve multiple methodologies, including biophysical and cell biological techniques, as well as characterization of a mouse model of the human disease.

The project will be overseen primarily by Dr. Anna H. Bizard, an expert on DNA topology
