About the scholarship

The Danish Government Scholarships under the Cultural Agreements are aimed at highly qualified exchange students wishing to immerse themselves in studies of the Danish language and culture or other fields of study related to Denmark.

Scholarships are offered to exchange students from higher education institutions in the following countries:

  • China

In accordance with the Programme of Educational and Cultural Cooperation between the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark and the Government of the People's Republic of China, the following scholarships are available for students from China:130 months for master's and ph.d. students, divided into periods of 5-10 months for master's students and 3- 12 months for ph.d. students. Bachelor's students wishing to study Danish language, culture or other fields of study related to Denmark can also apply provided that they have studied the Danish language for two years.

The amount of months cited above are allocated per academic year. Unused months can not be carried over to the next application round

Purpose

Scholarships are available for master's and ph.d. students in order to enable them to study or carry out research at a Danish university or a similar institution of higher education in Denmark.

In order to encourage the establishment and development of direct contacts and agreements between institutions in Denmark and China, priority will be given to applicants affiliated with such projects.

Priority will also be given to applicants who want to study the language and culture of Denmark.

  • Japan

In accordance with the Cultural Agreement Programme between Denmark and Japan, the following scholarships are available for nationals from Japan:55 months for master's and ph.d. students, divided into periods of 5-10 months for master's students and 3- 12 months for ph.d. students. Bachelor's students wishing to study Danish language, culture or other fields of study related to Denmark can also apply provided that they have studied the Danish language for two years.

The amount of months cited above is allocated per academic year. Unused months will not be carried over to the application round for the following academic year.

In accordance with the Cultural Agreement Programme between Denmark and Israel, the following scholarships are available for students from Israel:20 months for master's and ph.d. students, divided into periods of 5-10 months for master's students and 3- 12 months for ph.d. students. Bachelor's students wishing to study Danish language, culture or other fields of study related to Denmark can also apply provided that they have studied the Danish language for two years.

The amount of months cited above are allocated per academic year. Unused months can not be carried over to the next application round.

Bachelor's students wishing to study Danish language, culture or other fields of study related to Denmark can also apply provided that they have studied the Danish language for two years.

The amount of months cited above are allocated per academic year. Unused months can not be carried over to the next application round.

In accordance with the Cultural Agreement Programme between Denmark and Russia, the following scholarships are available for students from Russia:40 months for master's and ph.d. students, divided into periods of 5-10 months for master's students and 3- 12 months for ph.d. students. Bachelor's students wishing to study Danish language, culture or other fields of study related to Denmark can also apply provided that they have studied the Danish language for two years.

The amount of months cited above are allocated per academic year. Unused months can not be carried over to the next application round.

Purpose

Scholarships are available for researchers in order to enable them to study or carry out research at a Danish university or a similar institution of higher education in Denmark.

In order to encourage the establishment and development of direct contacts and agreements between institutions in Denmark and Russia, priority will be given to applicants who are affiliated with such projects.

Priority will also be given to applicants who want to study the language and culture of Denmark.

  • Republic of Korea

In accordance with the Cultural Agreement Programme between Denmark and the Republic of Korea, the following scholarships are available for nationals from the Republic of Korea:60 months for master's and ph.d. students, divided into periods of 5-10 months for master's students and 3- 12 months for ph.d. students. Bachelor's students wishing to study Danish language, culture or other fields of study related to Denmark can also apply provided that they have studied the Danish language for two years.

The amount of months cited above is allocated per academic year. Unused months will not be carried over to the application round for the following academic year.

Scholarships are available for master's and ph.d. students in order to enable them to study or carry out research at a Danish university or a similar institution of higher education in Denmark.

Scholarships are only available to master’s and ph.d.-level students. However, bachelor's degree students wishing to study Danish language and literature can also apply if they have studied the Danish language for two years.

Please note that scholarships are only offered to students enrolled in full-degree studies at higher education institutions in the countries listed above.

Ph.d. students must likewise be employed at, or affiliated with, higher education institutions in the above-mentioned countries.

Applications from candidates affiliated with higher education institutions in countries other than those listed will not be taken into consideration.
