Technical University of Denmark PhD Scholarship in Transport Economics

The Transport Economics group in the division of System Analysis at DTU Management Engineering seeks a PhD student to work within the area of productivity, agglomeration, and congestion. 

Responsibilities and tasks

Using the Danish register data, the PhD project aims to contribute to identification and measurement of causal relationships that can inform how transport or place-based policies affect productivity, wages and the level of employment, the size and shape of cities, patterns of residential and work location, and commute distances.  

The PhD student will also be expected to participate in project work and in general meetings in the Department about research and strategic issues.  

The project is carried out in close collaboration with the University of Copenhagen and other partners. 

Qualifications

A master’s degree in economics or similar is required.  

Approval and Enrolment
The scholarships for the PhD degree are subject to academic approval, and the candidates will be enrolled in one of the general degree programmes of DTU. For information about the general requirements for enrolment and the general planning of the scholarship studies, please see the DTU PhD Guide.

Assessment

The PhD student will be selected through a competitive application process. Online applications will be screened and a shortlist of candidates will be assessed in more detail. The assessment of the applicants will be made by Professor Mogens Fosgerau.

Salary and appointment terms

The salary and appointment terms are consistent with the current rules for PhD degree students. The period of employment is 3 years.
