Is the Summer Youth English Experience right for me?
Are you between the ages of 14-18? Do you want to practice your English skills and learn about university student life?
The international Summer Youth English Experience at INTO USF offers students the chance to practice their English language skills while living at an American university in sunny Tampa, Florida.
Session highlights:
- Learn English in small language workshops
- Live and study at an American university
- Explore Florida and Tampa Bay
- Practice your English with new friends from the US and around the world
- Visit local amusement parks such as Walt Disney World or Busch Gardens
- Spend time at the beach or go shopping
- Enjoy full access to university facilities (gym, library, housing, dining, public transportation)
What will I study at the university?
Workshops during this special summer experience will help you improve your English speaking and communication skills while you live at an American university:
- Fun, interactive English workshops designed to give participants a chance to develop confidence in using English. Workshops provide an opportunity to work on challenging projects involving problem solving and critical thinking.
- Opportunity to practice English with Americans through weekly recreational events, and conversation partners.
- Visits to USF departments to experience lectures, participate in hands-on activities and tour facilities (i.e. engineering and science labs, USF Health, art studio, athletics). Meet and interact with USF professors and students.
- Educational field trips in which participants learn about American culture and history.
- Weekend trips to include a visit to Orlando theme parks such as Walt Disney World or Universal Studios, and a day to explore Tampa area beaches, shopping, sport events or museums.
What activities do you offer?
- Evening activities on campus to provide opportunities to practice conversational English
- Weekend recreational trips to theme parks, such as Disney World's Magic Kingdom or Busch Gardens
- Day trips to beautiful area beaches, such as Clearwater and St. Petersburg Beach
- Shopping trips to popular malls, such as International Plaza and Premier Outlets

Summer Youth English Experience students may apply to an INTO English language program or Pathway program and pursue further study if admitted.
How will the Summer Youth English Experience prepare me for success?
