With the College of Engineering vision on research excellence and technology innovation, we aim to cultivate potential candidates in becoming creative and innovative leaders in this global society.
Summer Research Program is a summer program that welcomes all university students, both undergraduates and graduates, around the globe. This will be a two-month research experience under the guidance of a faculty advisor from College of Engineering. Each participant will working collaboratively with their advisor on an on-going research project or a new project of mutual interests.
The program offers a great opportunity with the mixture of cultural experiences, academic achievements, and social outings. During the two-month program, you will work along with local students on conducting research projects. This program also arranges a field trip of places around Taiwan. Join us this summer and meet fellow participants around the world.
Admissions
Summer Research Program is open to current enrolled university students overseas. Applicants will be accepted to one of the six disciplines under College of Engineering that best match their interest of study. Each student admitted will complete the program under the advisory of a professor. We also provide limited candidates with Global Engineer Leadership (GEL) scholarship with subsidized round trip airline tickets up to NTD 15,000 and free accommodation at university residence hall.

Tuition Fees & Scholarship
Summer Research Program is tuition- free.
A limited number of Global Engineer Leadership (GEL) scholarship with subsidized round trip airline tickets up to NTD 15,000 and free accommodation at university residence hall.
Housing
Housing will be a primary concern for most people coming to a new place. There are two housing options for program participants during your stay at National Tsing Hua University. Additional cost will apply depending on your accommodation of choice.
A. University Residence Halls
There are overall 22 residence halls and the average building age is 30 years old. Student Housing Office reserves the right to assign applicants to any residence hall and room option based upon space availability.
- Single gender buildings divided into undergraduate residence halls and graduate residence halls.
- Twin rooms & quad rooms with loft beds
- Furnished but no bedding provided
- Public bathroom, TV lounge, and other shared appliances (microwave & water dispenser)
- Laundry facilities
B. 10th Floor of Dormitory Ching (Qing)
It is a newly remodeled dormitory with two type of rooms to choose from, single and twin bedroom. 10th Floor of Dormitory Ching is specially designed for international students coming overseas with short term accommodation needs.
Options:
- Single bedroom with a independent bathroom and a compact refrigerator.
- Twin loft bedroom with shared bathroom.
- Furnished but no bedding provided.
- Shared common area & appliances: TV lounge, microwave, water dispenser.
- Laundry facilities.
Estimated Housing Prices
The recipient of GEL scholarship will receive free accommodation at university residence hall, but has the option to change to dormitory Ching with subsidy of NTD 6000.
10th Floor of Dormitory Ching
Single: NTD 900/day
Twin: NTD 550/day
University Residence Hall
Undergraduate: NTD 3200-7400/two month
Graduate: NTD 5100-8300/two month
