The International Association for Political Science Students (IAPSS) herewith launches the Call for Applications for its upcoming Study Trip to the capital of Germany. Three days of very intensive and enriching program spent in Berlin. The main focus of this intensive study trip is understanding Germany’s role in Europe and the World by exploring historical and contemporary issues in German politics and their impact on European and international affairs.

Take your chance and join us for this unique study trip to the capital of a country which plays arguably the most central role in the European Union. Why and how has Germany (re)developed this role? What position does Germany have in European and international relations nowadays? What are the current challenges for Germany and the EU? Those are just a few of the questions, which we will be discussing on this study trip. With the help of various political, academic or civil society actors, participants will get the chance to receive in-depth knowledge for answering those questions.

About the Program

Our study trip to Berlin has a strong underlying concept, which enables a very comprehensive understanding of the addressed issues in a short period of time. Therefore, the trip is divided into three main themes; one for each day. The first day will cover the historical foundations of Germany’s role since WWII, which will give us deep knowledge for understanding the current and future challenges in the following days. The second day will be devoted for contemporary problems in German politics and its role in the EU. The third day will cover ongoing and future issues as a rising player in international affairs. We will explore external actors in German foreign policies including meeting with policy makers and activists. This very comprehensive program features meetings with academia and think tanks, public and private institutions in the governmental quarter of Berlin as well as meetings with oppositional groups and activists.
