On September 1, Rector of Russian-Armenian University Prof. Armen Darbinyan and SAP Manager for Russia/CIS Dr. Igor Belousov signed an agreement on RAU entering the SAP University Alliances.
RAU became the first university in Armenia to join the global academic community of SAP, a multinational software corporation that develops IT solutions for enterprises. Among SAP’s customers are world’s biggest companies across industries: BP, Apple, GM, IKEA and many others. SAP uses technology for a digital transformation of businesses and works with virtual, augmented and mixed reality, Internet of Things, Big Data, Machine Learning among others.
SAP will open an SAP Next-Gen Lab at Russian-Armenian University, where students, instructors and companies will find a common ground to develop innovative projects and generate ideas for a digital future.
Ilya Shulipin, a SAP representative, mentioned during their presentation Digital Future with SAP: from the Internet of Things to Virtual Reality, “Companies around the world trust SAP because of our ability to understand customer’s business on a deeper level, and that is something we want to pass to the younger generation through working with students”.
Now that Armenia has joined the Alliances, 9 out of 11 CIS countries are involved in the global program. 3300 educational institutions from 106 countries are already part of the community.
