RMIT Cultural Visions Film Grant

If you wish to make a documentary or short film exploring cultural dynamics and integration within Australian communities–past, present and/or future, this scholarship could assist.

Value and duration

The grant is valued at up to $3000 for one year.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this grant you must:

  • be currently enrolled in a Certificate IV, diploma or degree program at RMIT
  • submit an application package which should include:
    • a three minute video pitch of your proposed film (uploaded to Vimeo or You Tube)
    • a three minute sample of your film work (uploaded to Vimeo or You Tube)
    • a three-page project proposal that includes:
      • a synopsis of the film you’re pitching
      • a treatment of the project (describing the screen idea and approach)
      • the reason for choosing your project
      • a risk assessment of the project
      • a statement of benefit of the project to the location and people involved (Australia or overseas)
      • a suggested budget, and
      • the medium which will be used to film the project
  • be available to attend an interview if shortlisted
  • be able and committed to produce the short film/documentary piece* 28 February 2018.

* The film should explore cultural dynamics and integration within Australian communities – past, present and/or future. The film piece should show cultural integration at work and encourage your peers’ awareness of different cultures.

In order to be considered for this scholarship, you must submit a complete online application. Partial applications will not be assessed.

Supporting documentation

Ensure that you have your supporting documentation ready to upload in order to complete your application. Applications without supporting documentation will not be considered.

You will need:
