The School of Applied Sciences is seeking to recruit a well-established academic, who has a sustainable track record and is acknowledged as a leading authority in the field of medical / healthcare technology.

The School’s vision is to be an internationally recognised centre of academic excellence, making a positive impact in the real world. The post-holder will be expected to undertake internationally excellent/world leading research in his/her area of specialism, and to take up the role of the Head of Division of Human Sciences for a term of 3-5 years, contributing to the strategic vision of the School. At the end of the fixed term role, the post-holder will return to the substantive post of Professor.

Applications from candidates with a research profile which will complement the current strength of the School would be welcome. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong research track record in assistive technology for the older people, and clinical technologies related to musculoskeletal disorders / exercise sciences.

This is an exciting opportunity for an academic who has the passion and desire of shaping our research agenda. The School is making significant investment in enhancing its research environment. The appointed Professor will be supported in the best possible ways to pursue his or her role and research at LSBU.

The Division of Human Sciences covers the disciplines of applied bioscience and medical / healthcare technology, forensic sciences, sport and exercise sciences. The Head of Division will provide leadership in the broad areas of Human Sciences, and is part of the School Management Team, providing important strategic inputs into decisions made by the School.
