1. Daily Mail Postgraduate Scholarship

One scholarship, funded by Associated Newspapers, will be awarded to a full-time student on the MA in Multimedia Journalism in the academic year 2015/16.

The recipient will receive £5,000 towards tuition fees and a work placement at the Daily Mail - Britain’s most consistently successful popular newspaper since 1896.

Criteria

Applicants must have formally accepted a full-time place on the MA in Multimedia Journalism running during the 2015/16 academic year.

How to apply

Applicants must submit a story written in the style of the Daily Mail (specifying the section it is aimed at), that is:

  • written to a style and length that accurately reflects content in that section;
  • set out in an appropriate manner (eg use of sub-headings, headlines etc);
  • genuine original work.

2. MA Multimedia Journalism Scholarships

The Centre for Journalism understand that a Master's degree represents a significant financial undertaking, and are offering two scholarships each year for Home/EU students undertaking the MA Multimedia Journalism programme.

The scholarships will cover 50% of tuition fees at the Home/EU rate for 1 year.

Criteria

Candidates must have formally applied and hold an offer for the MA Multimedia Journalism programme.

3. Stationers’ Foundation Postgraduate Bursary

The Stationers’ Foundation is the charitable arm of the Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers. The Centre for Journalism have one Stationers’ Foundation Postgraduate Bursary to offer for 2016-17.

The bursary offers £6,000 towards tuition fees.

Criteria

  • Applicants must be under 25 on 1 September 2016 and resident in the UK.
  • Applicants must have accepted either a conditional or unconditional offer for the MA in Multimedia Journalism and should not be in receipt of any other major award.

4. Graduate Teaching Assistantships and Scholarships for Postgraduate Study

The University of Kent has established a scholarship fund of £8.5m to support research students. This fund allows the University to provide support for more than 100 students in any one year.
