The School of Applied Sciences is seeking to attract a talented and ambitious academic to teach and pursue scholarly work in Medical / Healthcare Technology.

The School’s vision is to be an internationally recognised centre of academic excellence, making a positive impact in the real world. The post-holder will be an academic staff member joining the Division of Human Sciences within the School, contributing to its vision and success.

Applications from candidates with a research profile which will complement the current strength of the School would be welcome. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong research track record in assistive technology for the older people, and clinical technologies related to musculoskeletal disorders / exercise sciences.

A PhD in Medical/Healthcare/Clinical Technology, Biomechanics/Biomechanical Engineering, Biophysics or a related discipline will be required. The successful candidates will undertake world leading/internationally excellent research in the School independently and in collaboration with other staff members. The successful candidates will identify opportunities and apply for external grants and income to support the work. The person will also carry out teaching, administrative duties and any other duties as required by the Dean of the School/the Head of Division of Health Sciences.
