Language / Full-time Faculty in TESOL/Applied Linguistics.
For its growing needs, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences of the American University of Armenia (www.aua.am) is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position in the Master’s Program in
Teaching English as a Foreign Language (MA TEFL) starting in August 2016.
The MA TEFL is a dynamic two-year program designed to meet the needs of an educational system in transition. The MA TEFL curriculum combines theory and practical skills providing students an opportunity to conduct research in the field of language teaching and applied linguistics. Qualifications: Successful candidates will hold a PhD in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, Foreign Language Education, or related field. Documented experience in teaching (including English as a second or foreign language) is required. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach courses in at least two of the following areas: Second Language Acquisition; Pedagogical Grammar; TEFL/TESL Methodology; Teaching Language Skills; Curriculum Design, Teaching Practicum and Capstone Supervision. Previous experience in conducting academic duties in an international setting is preferred; recent graduates, junior faculty, and recently retired faculty welcome.
Compensation: Compensation commensurate with university-wide pay scale, qualifications and experience.
