Teaching methodologies
The school includes modules of history, archaeology, urban morphology, methodologies for heritage survey, restoration, landscape, heritage management and design. Most of the teaching activities will be in the Castello Orsini at Castel Madama, a small town close to Rome, and the final conference, “Reconsidering Archaeology and Architecture” will be on September 10th at the Parco Regionale dell’Appia Antica in Rome.
Digital survey: The Dipartimento di Architettura, Florence University will participate supporting the Digital Survey for the intervention areas. The research team will operate using z 3D Laser Scanner unit and Digital photogrammetry techniques. The team will define, since the very first days of the classes a common operative base and a new set of drawing bases and finalize specific teaching modules about digital survey, practical approach to survey data and multimedia for cultural/built heritage.
Credits: The attendance to the school provides three credits to GAU students (Technical Elective course), “architecture and archaeology”, (Special topics in architecture arch 465, or The Culture of Architecture, ARC415) other participants will receive a certificate and credits may be issued in agreement with their university.
Admission: The school will accept 70 students, coming from University Master, PhD and undergraduate courses, starting from the second year, enrolled in architecture, history, archaeology and cultural heritage programs, and registered architects and archaeologists. Students and professionals participating will receive the certificate of attendance.

Cost: 300 euro, including accommodation and tuition fees, costs do not include transportation, visa expenses and food.
