International Autumn School
in Chișinău, Republic of Moldova and Kyiv, Ukraine
From 14 October to 25 October the Lectureship Program of the Robert Bosch Foundation and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) are organising an International Autumn School for 20 students, graduates and young professionals from Germany, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.
The International Autumn School will consist of two parts and will take place first in Chișinău and later in Kyiv. Our goal will be to create a magazine, which will be published in English and, additionally, in either German, Romanian, Ukrainian or Russian, depending on the authors' native languages.
Important parts of the programme will be: workshops held by highly experienced journalists and publishers, and meetings with local experts and decision makers. The participants will also have the opportunity to decide on both the concept for the magazine and on how it should look. The central theme is the concept of "NEIGHBOURS“ which we will approach by a number of different perspectives.
We are looking for participants from all disciplines and academic fields: Social Sciences, Humanities, Fine Arts, etc. If you have any experience in writing articles, publishing, drawing/painting, photography, graphic design etc., please complete this application form and send it to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Application deadline: 9 September 2015 (6 pm, CET)
Once you have applied, you will receive a confirmation e-mail.
We will inform you of the results of the selection process by 20 September 2015.
Please note, that you will need to start preparing for the Autumn School in your home country e.g. by doing some research or reading a scientific paper that we will provide. Make sure that you give yourself an additional day to get acquainted with the topic.
Applicants who are not living in either Chisinau or Kyiv will be provided with accomodation. The Robert Bosch Foundation and the DAAD will cover almost all the expenses during the International Autumn School such as: travel expenses to and from Chisinau (if you are coming from Ukraine or Germany, or live outside Chisinau), travel expenses to Kyiv (for all the participants travelling together from Chisinau), meals and accommodation. The organisers will not cover travel insurance.
Travel expenses for Ukrainian participants to Chisinau will be covered for (mini-)bus/train travel only, German participants can choose their means of transportation. However, travel expenses will be limited to a maximim of 300 Euro (Germany – Chisinau – Germany).
Please keep 28 November free, for magazine launch, which will take place in Chisinau. (Unfortunately, only travel expenses from Ukraine, or within the Republic of Moldova can be covered.) Participation at this event is not mandatory for German applicants, but is desirable.
