Institute of Photonic Sciences Post-doctoral Position in Medical Optics for Endocrinology
The Medical optics research group led by Prof. Turgut Durduran at ICFO - The Institute of Photonic Sciences in Barcelona, Spain is looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to work in a multi-disciplinary project working with physicists, engineers and endocrinologists as well as the industry.
The project is part of a new international consortium on the development of a portable system combining multiple diffuse optical technologies and ultrasound on a single probe endocrinology applications. The consortium consists of academic groups specializing in instrumentation and algorithms, clinicians and the industry representing the medical ultrasound and medical diffuse optics.
Requirements & Conditions
Candidates must hold an internationally recognized Ph.D.-equivalent degree (or evidence of its completion in the near future) in a relevant field.
Scientific background: Previous experience with diffuse optics for medicine including instrumentation as well as theoretical background. Demonstrated experience in translational research in particular in clinical settings is important. Experience in ultrasound and/or other medical imaging technologies will be taken positively. A strong publication record and the contact information of three referees is needed.
Computational background must include advanced Matlab/Octave, C/C++ programming, and hardware control . Demonstrated strength in other similar programming languages/platforms may replace some of the languages.
