IEEE RCIS 2017

IEEE Eleventh International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science, 10-12 May 2017, Brighton, United Kindgom
The eleventh IEEE International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science (RCIS) aims at providing an international forum for scientists, researchers, engineers and developers from a wide range of information science areas to exchange ideas and approaches in this evolving field. At RCIS 2017, among other regular topics a special attention will be given to the special topic “Security and Privacy for Information Science”.Information plays a central part in almost every aspect of human life. With the advent of technologies both at hardware level (e.g. smart phones and mobile devices), and software level (e.g. cloud computing, big data), which support the collection, storage and analysis of information at any time and at any place, organisations, industry, governments but also individuals are able to access and share information like never before. However, although there is information that everyone is willing to share, there is also sensitive and confidential information that needs to remain private and secure, such as medical records, bank accounts, military plans, but also information that individuals consider private, such as photos, videos, and so on. This year’s RCIS theme aims to explore the role of information science models, tools and methods that support security and privacy.

While presenting research findings and state-of-art solutions, you are especially invited to share experiences on new research challenges.

High quality papers in all information science areas are solicited. Original papers exploring research challenges will receive especially careful interest from reviewers. Papers that have already been accepted or are currently under review for other conferences or journals will not be considered for publications at RCIS 2017.

The authors of papers that obtain the highest marks in the reviewing process will be invited to submit an extended version to a journal.
